About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X70B
Double acting with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD50X70B pushes with the same 881.2 N in either direction at 0.5 MPa because both strokes work on the rod-side area. The 16 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mounting face, and lets the rear rod carry a sensor flag. Stroke is 70 mm, the port is 1/8" PT, and the rod end is male thread (B code). Note this model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is ACED50X70.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding. At 0.5 MPa plan on about 529 N (roughly 54 kg) of usable vertical work, or about 27 kg with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a fixed TPU bumper at each end, the S45C rod is hard-chrome plated, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). This unit has no magnet; order the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.

Replacing the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD50X70B with the ACED50X70B
Size both ways: the 40 mm bore gives 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa if your load is lighter, while the 63 mm bore delivers 1458.1 N when 881.2 N is not enough. A plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check for held loads. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. Remember the magnet is only fitted when you order the -S code. Since ACPD50X70B is discontinued, spec the ACED50X70 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
