This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED63X100S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED63X100S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD63X100S is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø63mm bore and 100mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED63X100S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD63X100S pushes and pulls with identical force because each stroke works on the rod-side area: 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 2041.3 N at 0.7 MPa in either direction. The 63 mm bore drives a 16 mm through-rod over a 100 mm stroke at 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end. Its hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, so it saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder in tight jigs and gantries.
The S code on this model means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke sensing. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), temperature -20 to +70 C, fluid air filtered to 40 um. Note: the ACPD family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACED63X100, and you should confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 875 N (roughly 74 kg vertical lift with a 2:1 margin) of real work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED63X100S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 1458 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 2041 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 297 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 63 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×100 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The equal 1458.1 N output both ways lets one cylinder form or stake a bracket on the forward stroke and eject the finished part on the return, with the rear rod driving a position flag.
A through-rod on a packaging line gates cartons from either side with the same 2041.3 N at 0.7 MPa, and the CMSE switch confirms the gate is fully home.
Driving a machine slide between two hard stops, the double rod keeps the carriage from rotating under side load across the 100 mm stroke at up to 500 mm/s.
At 1458.1 N per side at 0.5 MPa, this 63 mm unit suits clamping and pressing jobs needing 80-120 kgf of working force; step down to the 50 mm bore (881.2 N) for lighter fixtures or up to the 80 mm bore (2356.2 N) for heavy tooling. The 100 mm stroke sits well inside the 250 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore. Remember the piston drifts if air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve for a held load. FA/FB flange or LB foot mounts bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Order the ACED63X100 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
It is a double-rod cylinder, so force is identical in both directions: 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 2041.3 N at 0.7 MPa, with a maximum of 297.4 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Both strokes use the rod-side area because a 16 mm rod exits each cover. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed range is 30-500 mm/s.
Order the ACED63X100, the current-production ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same 63 mm bore, 100 mm stroke and force class in a matching short body. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, since the ACP follows the older DIN-standard format. FA/FB flange and LB foot options carry over, and the -S magnet code still enables CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.
