About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD63X5
A double acting, double-rod compact cylinder built to the DIN-standard ACP family, the ACPD63X5 pushes a 63 mm piston through a very short 5 mm stroke with a rod leaving both covers. Because each side sees the rod-side area, output is identical in both directions: 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 2041.3 N at 0.7 MPa. The through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, while the rear rod can carry a sensor flag on a fixture.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding. At 0.5 MPa plan on roughly 875 N of real work, which is about 89 kgf, so halving that gives a vertical lift of around 44 kg with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is the ACED63X5, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

A 63 mm bore nudges filled cartons sideways at up to 500 mm/s, and the compact short body fits inside the sealer frame where a full-length cylinder will not.

For a 5 mm positioning or clamping nudge needing about 1458 N both ways, bore 63 fits; drop to bore 50 (881 N at 0.5 MPa) if the load is lighter, or step up to bore 80 (2356 N) for heavier presses. The 5 mm stroke is well inside the 250 mm standard range for this bore. This unit has no magnet, so position switches are not mountable; order the -S code variant if CMSE or DMSE switches are needed.
