About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ20X10-10
This compact cylinder is double acting: air both extends and retracts the 10 mm rod, and a stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in the 10 mm window of the -10 code, giving a usable range of 0-10 mm. At 0.5 MPa the 20 mm bore delivers 157.1 N push and 117.8 N pull; at 0.7 MPa it reaches 219.9 N push. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
For sizing work, treat roughly 0.6 of the push force as usable, so about 94 N of real work at 0.5 MPa - roughly 9 kg lifted vertically with a 2:1 margin. The fixed TPU bumper at both ends decelerates the piston but never locks or holds a load; on air loss the piston still drifts. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ20X10 (same bore, stroke and force class), so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping from the DIN-standard ACP footprint.
