This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ20X100-75 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ20X100-75 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ20X100-75 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ20X100-75 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and adjustable, the ACPJ20X100-75 is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 20 mm bore and 100 mm stroke. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N, and the -75 code gives a 75 mm stop-screw window, so the extend stroke can be trimmed anywhere from 25 to 100 mm on site. Its hard-anodized aluminium body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits cramped jigs and gantries.
Practical sizing: treat about 94 N (0.6 of the push force) as the realistic working force at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 9 kg vertically - halve that to about 4-5 kg if you want a 2:1 margin on a real part weight. The rod is 10 mm with a female M6x1.0 thread, ports are M5x0.8, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACEJ20X100 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ20X100-75 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACEJ20X100-75 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×100 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -75 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 25-100 mm trim range lets one cylinder serve several part heights on a milling fixture, with 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa holding steel blanks against a stop.
At 30-500 mm/s the 20 mm bore kicks light cartons off a conveyor lane, and the short body slots into the tight guard space beside the sealing head.
About 9 kg of vertical press force (0.6 x 157.1 N) seats vials or microplates repeatably, with the stop screw set to a fixed 40 mm stroke for the tray depth.
Size both ways: the 16 mm bore gives 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa if your load is lighter, while the 20 mm bore here delivers 157.1 N push and 117.8 N pull - step up only if you need more than about 94 N of usable force. Note the stop screw trims the extend stroke only; it is a mechanical end stop, not a mid-stroke lock, so the piston still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flanges and LB feet bolt to the standard face, and if you need position sensing, order the -S variant with the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches - this non-S model carries no magnet. For new builds, specify the ACEJ20X100 instead.
Replacement checklist
Push is 157.1 N and pull 117.8 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 219.9 N and pull to 164.9 N, with a theoretical maximum of 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -75 code is a 75 mm adjustment window: a stop screw shortens the 100 mm extend stroke to any length from 25 to 100 mm. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed is 30-500 mm/s.
No - the ACPJ family is discontinued. Order the ACEJ20X100, the ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class, and confirm the mounting dimensions first since the ACP is DIN-standard. The short aluminium body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, uses a fixed TPU bumper at both ends, and accepts FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting; position sensing needs the optional -S magnet with CMSE / DMSE switches.
