About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ20X120-10S
This is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: the -10 code gives a 10 mm stop-screw window, so the 120 mm stroke can be trimmed on site to anywhere between 110 and 120 mm. At the 20 mm bore it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N at 0.5 MPa (rising to 219.9 N at 0.7 MPa), with a theoretical maximum of 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 120 mm stroke exceeds the 100 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is ACEJ20X120, the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. As an -S model it carries the optional magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke signalling. A practical sizing rule: plan on roughly 94 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of the rating), which lifts about 8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The fixed TPU bumpers at both ends decelerate the piston; the stop screw sets stroke length but never locks or holds a load if air is lost. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um.
