This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ20X150-100B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ20X150-100B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ20X150-100B is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ20X150-100B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke, the ACPJ20X150-100B runs on a 20 mm bore with a 10 mm rod and M5x0.8 ports. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa that rises to 219.9 N push. The 150 mm stroke is a made-to-order length because the standard maximum for this bore is 100 mm. The -100 code sets a 100 mm adjustment window, so an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere in a 50-150 mm range on site.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs and gantries. Plan on roughly 94 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, enough to lift about 8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends, speed spans 30-500 mm/s, and pressure runs 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACEJ20X150, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The male rod thread (B code) and PT ports are stated here; no magnet is fitted, so order the optional -S code if you later need CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ20X150-100B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACEJ20X150-100B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×150 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -100 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 50-150 mm trimmed extend range lets one cylinder serve several pallet sizes, with about 94 N of working push holding light aluminum parts in drilling jigs.
With 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa and a male-thread rod for direct knuckle attachment, it kicks cartons or trays off a conveyor stop at up to 500 mm/s.
The adjustable stop gives repeatable short strokes for pressing vials or sensors, and the compact body fits bench frames where a full-length profile cylinder cannot.
Size against the 0.5 MPa figures: this 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push and 117.8 N pull; step down to a 16 mm bore for 100.5 N push or up to a larger bore if you need beyond about 94 N of working force. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke within the ordered 100 mm window and is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod still drifts if air is lost. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face. If position sensing matters, order the -S variant with the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. For new builds, specify the ACEJ20X150 instead - it is the current ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 219.9 N and pulls 164.9 N; theoretical maximum is 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -100 code gives a 100 mm adjustment window, so the extend stroke can be trimmed from 150 mm down to 50 mm with the external stop screw. The 150 mm stroke itself is non-standard for this bore and is made to order.
The short ISO 21287-class aluminium body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt straight on. Switch sensing is only possible when the optional -S magnet is ordered, enabling CMSE / DMSE switches; this B-coded model has no magnet fitted. Since the ACPJ is discontinued, plan the swap to the ACEJ20X150 and verify ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first.
