About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ20X160-20SB
This ACPJ20X160-20SB is a double acting compact cylinder with an adjustable extend stroke: a stop screw trims the 160 mm stroke by up to 20 mm on site, giving a usable range of 140-160 mm. The 20 mm bore delivers 157.1 N push and 117.8 N pull at 0.5 MPa (219.9 N / 164.9 N at 0.7 MPa, 32 kgf theoretical maximum at 1.0 MPa), and the S code means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the hard-anodized aluminium body. The B code gives a male thread on the 10 mm S45C hard-chrome rod.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight guarding and slim gantries. Because 160 mm exceeds the 100 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, this unit is a made-to-order build. Note the stop screw is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the piston still drifts, so it never holds a load.
