About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ20X160-50S
Double acting and adjustable in stroke, the ACPJ20X160-50S is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 20 mm bore and a 160 mm stroke that a stop screw trims by up to 50 mm, giving a usable extend range of 110-160 mm. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 219.9 N and 164.9 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 160 mm stroke exceeds the 100 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is made to order. AirTAC now supplies the ACEJ20X160 as the current-production drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight gantries and fixture plates. Because the -S code is on this model, the magnet is fitted and CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped on for end-of-stroke signals. For sizing, plan on roughly 94 N (about 9.6 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The fixed TPU bumper at each end only decelerates the piston; it never locks or holds a load, and on air loss the rod still drifts. Running spec: 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, -20 to +70 C, M5x0.8 ports and a female M6x1.0 rod thread.

Size both ways before ordering: the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa if your load is lighter, while the 25 mm class in the ACE range gives more headroom if 157.1 N is marginal. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions of the ACEJ20X160 before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings plus I/Y rod knuckles bolt to the standard face. The stop screw shortens the extend stroke only; it is not a mid-stroke lock, so do not use it to hold a vertical load.

On this -S version the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for position signals; without the -S code there is no magnet.
