About the Airtac ASE Single Acting Plunger Type Compact Air Cylinder ASE50X25B
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASE50X25B extends its 16 mm rod with air and lets the internal spring retract it, so only one air line is needed. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 875.5 N of push force, already net of the spring, and 1268.2 N at 0.7 MPa; it needs just 0.2 MPa (28-145 psi working band) to overcome the spring and start moving.
The ISO 21287 compact body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which makes it easy to fit into shallow clamping fixtures and slide assemblies. As a working rule, plan on roughly 525 N (about 53 kg) of real work at 0.5 MPa, or expect it to lift about 44 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The male rod thread (B code) bolts directly to your tooling, and the fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-stroke shock.

Size down to the ASE40X25B (556.8 N push at 0.5 MPa) for lighter clamps, or step up to the ASE63X25B (1420.5 N at 0.5 MPa) when the load grows. Remember the spring returns the rod home on air loss and will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mount with FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis, CR, SDB pivot or FTC brackets, and add I/Y rod knuckles for side misalignment. If you need end-of-stroke detection, order the -S code so CMSE / DMSE switches can be used; without -S there is no magnet.
