About the Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP20X15
The ATP20X15 is a single acting pull cylinder with spring return (discontinued): an internal spring holds the rod extended and compressed air at 0.2 MPa or higher retracts it over a 15 mm stroke. In the 20 mm bore class it delivers a net pull of 88.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 135.2 N at 0.7 MPa, already deducted for the spring. The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod keeps the short ISO 21287-style build roughly 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into shallow clamping fixtures and sliding guards.
Practically, plan on about 53 N of usable pull at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to retracting or seating parts of roughly 4.5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The fixed TPU bumpers at both ends simply decelerate the rod; on air loss the spring returns it to the extended home position and no mid-stroke position is held. This model is discontinued - the current-production drop-in is the ATE20X15, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The optional -S magnet code enables CMSE / DMSE switches; without it there is no magnet.
