This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE20X25 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE20X25 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP20X25 is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE20X25 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting pull cylinder with spring return, the ATP20X25 keeps the rod extended at rest and uses compressed air to retract it. The 20 mm bore delivers 88.1 N of pull at 0.5 MPa (135.2 N at 0.7 MPa), already net of the return spring, so the figures you see are what reaches the work. Minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa, the port is M5x0.8, and the rod end carries a female M6x1.0 thread. This model is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ATE20X25 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into slim fixtures where a full-length body will not fit. Plan on roughly 53 N (about 5.4 kg of pull) for real work at 0.5 MPa, or expect it to lift about 4.5 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a fixed TPU bumper at both ends, and the optional -S magnet lets you add CMSE or DMSE switches - without that code there is no magnet fitted.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE20X25 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 88.1 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 135.2 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The spring lifts a vacuum pick-up head back to its home position after each air retract stroke, failing safe to the raised pose when air is lost.
Air pulls a spring-loaded locating gate out of the way inside a 25 mm stroke envelope, then the spring re-extends it to lock the part.
Order the -S magnet and a CMSE switch to confirm the rod has retracted on a 20 mm bore slide running at 50-500 mm/s.
Size both ways: the 16 mm bore pulls 53.3 N at 0.5 MPa, while the 25 mm bore reaches 170.9 N - if your load needs more than about 53 N of working pull, step up to 25. The spring returns the rod to its extended home on air loss and will not hold a mid-stroke position. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings bolt to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE sensing. Order the ATE20X25 as the current drop-in replacement.
Replacement checklist
Pull is 88.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 135.2 N at 0.7 MPa, both net of the return spring, with 0.2 MPa as the minimum working pressure to move the rod. Keep real work to about 53 N (roughly 5.4 kg of pull), and expect about 4.5 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. Operating range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, air filtered to 40 um.
No - the ATP family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is the ATE20X25, an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ATP was built to a DIN-standard footprint, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The short body still saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis brackets bolt straight to the standard face.
