This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE25X10SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE25X10SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP25X10SB is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 10mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE25X10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting pull cylinder with spring return, the ATP25X10SB keeps its 10 mm rod retracted by compressed air and lets the spring extend it home. At 0.5 MPa it pulls 170.9 N net of the spring (253.3 N at 0.7 MPa), and it needs at least 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. The S code means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signalling. The B code gives a male rod thread, and the port is M5x0.8.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits cramped jigs and guarding. As a working figure, plan on roughly 103 N of real pull at 0.5 MPa, enough to lift about 8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is the ATE25X10, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE25X10SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 170.9 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 253.3 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
On a small parts chute, air retracts the gate 10 mm to release one component; if air fails, the spring extends the rod and the gate closes fail-safe.
With the fitted -S magnet and a DMSE switch, a PCB test jig confirms the 10 mm pull stroke is complete before the probe cycle starts.
The short body tucks inside a rotary indexing table where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder would overhang, pulling a latch pin with about 170.9 N at 0.5 MPa.
Size the bore against your load: the 20 mm bore pulls 88.1 N at 0.5 MPa while the 32 mm bore reaches 296.0 N, so 25 mm at 170.9 N sits between them for light clamping or return tasks. On air loss the spring extends the rod and no mid-stroke position is held. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings bolt to the same face family, and the fitted -S magnet accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Order the ATE25X10 as the drop-in successor.
Replacement checklist
It is a single acting pull cylinder: the spring extends the rod and air retracts it. Pull force is net of the spring: 170.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 253.3 N at 0.7 MPa. Minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa (28-145 psi operating range, 1.5 MPa / 215 psi proof), speed 50-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um, -20 to +70 C. The 25 mm bore has a 10 mm rod, M5x08 port is M5x0.8, and the male rod thread comes from the B code.
Order the ATE25X10, the current-production ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same 25 mm bore, 10 mm stroke and force class with a matching short body and mounting family. Because the ATP was DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap, and remember the -S magnet option if you need CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.
