This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE25X15B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE25X15B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP25X15B is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 15mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE25X15B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a single acting pull cylinder with spring return: the internal spring extends the 10 mm rod and compressed air retracts it, so the ATP25X15B sits normally extended and fails to the extended position when air is lost. The 25 mm bore delivers a net pull of 170.9 N at 0.5 MPa (253.3 N at 0.7 MPa, already after the spring), with working pressure 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) and a 0.2 MPa minimum to beat the spring. Note this ATP model is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ATE25X15 in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight fixture plates and sliding guards. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends, and a male rod thread (the B code) on a PT port. For planning, treat about 102 N (roughly 10 kg of pull) as the realistic working force at 0.5 MPa rather than the full 170.9 N rating.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE25X15B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 170.9 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 253.3 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×15 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The spring keeps a clamp pad down on an aluminium bracket while drilling; 170.9 N of air pull at 0.5 MPa retracts the 10 mm rod for part loading, and the jig stays clamped on air loss.
On a packaging line chute, the spring pulls the ejector blade home to its extended rest position after each air pulse, with the fixed TPU bumper absorbing the end-of-travel stop over the 15 mm stroke.
A plastic housing gate stays shut by spring force and opens only when 0.2 MPa or more of air retracts the rod - useful where a failed air line must leave the fixture in its safe, closed state.
Size against neighbours: the 20 mm bore pulls 88.1 N at 0.5 MPa while the 32 mm bore reaches 296.0 N, so the 25 mm sits mid-range for light clamping and return tasks. The 15 mm stroke is within the standard range for this bore, so no made-to-order stroke is needed. The rod ends in a male thread (B code) and the port is PT; if you need position sensing, the optional -S magnet code enables CMSE / DMSE switches - this unit without S has no magnet at all. Since ATP is discontinued, spec the ATE25X15 as the drop-in and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, because the ATP follows the older DIN-standard footprint.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa the net pull is 170.9 N, rising to 253.3 N at 0.7 MPa - both figures are already after the return spring. Working pressure is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with a 0.2 MPa minimum to overcome the spring, proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, and air filtered to 40 um. On air loss the spring extends the rod home; it does not hold a mid-stroke position.
The short-body build saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with a hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. Mounting brackets (FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis) bolt to the standard face. The ATP25X15B is discontinued; order the ATE25X15 as the current drop-in and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions first, since the ATP used a DIN-standard footprint.
