This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE25X25SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE25X25SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP25X25SB is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE25X25SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting pull cylinder with spring return, the ATP25X25SB keeps its 25 mm rod extended by spring force and retracts it with compressed air, delivering 170.9 N of pull at 0.5 MPa (253.3 N at 0.7 MPa), both figures already net of the spring. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ATE25X25, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The male rod thread (B code) and the fitted -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches are carried over in the ordering code.
The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into cramped jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. In practice, plan on roughly 100 N of usable pull at 0.5 MPa (about 10 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin), so match it to parts in that weight class. Air filtered to 40 um, 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) working pressure, 50-500 mm/s speed and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends complete the package.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE25X25SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 170.9 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 253.3 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
On a small electronics assembly bench, the spring holds the 10 mm rod out to present a PCB carrier, and 170.9 N of air pull at 0.5 MPa retracts it into the nest for the next cycle.
With the fitted -S magnet and a DMSE switch, a packaging machine confirms the latch is fully extended (spring home) before the sealing head is allowed to advance.
Inside a tight machining jig where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder is about twice too long, the short body retracts a locating pin 25 mm at up to 500 mm/s.
Size both ways before committing: the 20 mm bore pulls 88.1 N at 0.5 MPa, while the 32 mm bore reaches 296.0 N, so the 25 mm bore at 170.9 N sits in the middle for light clamping and return tasks. Remember that on air loss the spring drives the rod to its extended home position and no mid-stroke position is held. If you need position feedback, this -S version already carries the magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches; FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the same face. Order the ATE25X25 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
It is a single acting pull cylinder: the spring extends the rod and air retracts it. Pull is 170.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 253.3 N at 0.7 MPa, net of the return spring. Working pressure is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof, speed 50-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, port M5x0.8 (PT), male rod thread, and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. Air must be filtered to 40 um.
Order the ATE25X25, the current-production ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same 25 mm bore, 25 mm stroke and force class in a short compact body. Because the ATP was built to a DIN-standard footprint, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, and re-check your FA/FB, LB or CA/CB bracket fit.
