This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE63X25SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE63X25SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP63X25SB is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø63mm bore and 25mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE63X25SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting pull cylinder with spring return, the ATP63X25SB keeps its 16 mm rod extended by the spring and retracts it with air pressure. At 0.5 MPa the net pull is 1320 N, rising to 1903.2 N at 0.7 MPa, with the minimum 0.2 MPa needed just to overcome the spring. The 63 mm bore takes a 1/8" port and the B code gives a male rod thread. Note that the ATP family is discontinued; the current drop-in is the ATE63X25, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it suits tight jigs and guarding. Because the S code is on this model, the magnet is fitted and CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the body. For real-world sizing, plan on roughly 792 N of usable pull at 0.5 MPa, which is about 67 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends and speed runs 50-500 mm/s.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE63X25SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 1320.0 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 1903.2 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 63 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 1320 N net pull at 0.5 MPa retracts a clamp arm on a CNC milling jig, and the spring pushes the arm back out the moment air is lost.
A 25 mm stroke is enough to pull a small divert gate clear on a bottling conveyor, with the 1/8" port keeping plumbing compact behind the guard.
With the fitted -S magnet, a DMSE switch confirms the retracted home position of a locate pin on an automotive assembly fixture.
Size against neighbours: the 50 mm bore pulls 775 N at 0.5 MPa while the 80 mm bore reaches 2159.1 N, so 1320 N at 0.5 MPa places this 63 mm unit in the middle of the range. Remember the spring returns the rod to its extended home position on air loss and will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mounting brackets FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis bolt to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches. Order the ATE63X25 as the current-production replacement.
Replacement checklist
The figures are net of the return spring: 1320 N at 0.5 MPa and 1903.2 N at 0.7 MPa. The spring extends the rod and air retracts it, so at least 0.2 MPa is needed to move the rod. Operating range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with proof pressure of 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
Order the ATE63X25, the current-production successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same 63 mm bore, 25 mm stroke and force class in an ISO 21287 compact body. Because the ATP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, and check FA/FB, LB or CA/CB bracket fit at the same time.
