The AirTAC Airtac GF Filter GF400C15J is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 40 µm element, with See datasheet ports and a differential-pressure drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.
The AirTAC GF series is purely a compressed-air filter: it removes water and particulate from the line and provides no pressure regulation and no lubrication. GF400C15J is the 400 size with a PT1/2 port on the default differential-pressure drain, which handles condensate through flow-driven action rather than a timed or float mechanism, and the standard 40 um filtration element for general plant-air protection. The 400-size bowl is polycarbonate so the condensate level is visible, and the J suffix means the mounting bracket is not included with this version.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The G-series filter family runs from size 200 to size 600 with ports from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure (default), automatic or manual drain, standard 40 um or optional 5 um (W) elements, and PT as the standard thread with G/BSPP and NPT variants to order. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so ask us to confirm flow and datasheet details against your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.
| GF400 | G-series air filter, 400 body — sets the port range. |
|---|---|
| C1 | Port size See datasheet. This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2". |
| (blank) | Drain: Differential-pressure drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M). |
| (blank) | Mounting bracket included. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without. |
| (blank) | Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist. |
| (blank) | PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT. |
Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.
A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Install on the bench drops of a plant maintenance shop, protecting hand-held air tools and test rigs from water and scale with the standard 40 um element.
Fit ahead of the air-supply manifold feeding wiping and blow-off stations on a wire or cable drawing line, keeping moisture out of the nozzles on the production run.
Use on the filtered supply to pneumatic controls on a truck-mounted or trailer-mounted unit, where the compact 400-size body fits the limited equipment-bay space.
Choose the size step from your pipe: 400 with a 1/2 in PT port covers mid-range mains; GF300 suits 1/4 or 3/8 in lines and GF600 covers 3/4 or 1 in. This code keeps both defaults - the differential-pressure drain and the 40 um element - with the bracket omitted (J), which suits bracketless direct line mounting. If the unit sits where nobody can reach it, the automatic drain on GF400C15AJ is the better fit; a manual drain suits attended stations with a drain routine.
PT thread is standard; order the G (BSPP) or T (NPT) variant to match BSP or NPT piping, and add a bracket if the unit will be panel or wall mounted. Because AirTAC publishes flow as curves and not a single rating, send your line pressure and flow target and we will confirm sizing from the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GF series as characteristic curves rather than a single rated figure, so there is no honest one-number rating to quote. Share your working pressure and required flow and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request before you place the order.
Leaving the drain position blank, as in GF400C15J, selects the default differential-pressure drain; the A suffix on GF400C15AJ selects the automatic drain, and M selects manual. All three are catalogue choices on the 400-size filter, so you can match the drain to how - and how often - the unit will be serviced.
