Airtac GF Filter GF400C15MW

The AirTAC Airtac GF Filter GF400C15MW is a genuine G-series air filter. It separates condensed water and filters particulate from the compressed-air line through a 40 µm element, with See datasheet ports and a differential-pressure drain. A filter does not set downstream pressure — pair it with a GR regulator, or use a GFR filter regulator, when pressure control is needed.

About the Airtac GF Filter GF400C15MW

GF400C15MW is a genuine AirTAC G-series air filter in size 400, for compressed air only. It removes water and particulate from the line; it does not regulate pressure and it does not add lubrication. This configuration carries a 1/2 inch PT port, the finer 5 um W element in place of the 40 um standard, and a manual drain, so an operator vents collected condensate by hand. Because of the manual drain, the inlet pressure range for this unit is 0-0.9 MPa. Working temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The G-series filter family runs from size 200 to 600, with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, PC (polycarbonate) bowls on the 200/300/400 sizes and an aluminium alloy bowl on 600, plus a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains and 40 um or 5 um elements. Filter flow is published as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we confirm the datasheet numbers for your application on request.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The inlet-pressure band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains run 0.15 - 1.0 MPa, a manual drain runs 0 - 0.9 MPa. Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Model Code: Airtac GF Filter GF400C15MW

GF400G-series air filter, 400 body — sets the port range.
C1Port size See datasheet. This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain. Options are differential (blank), automatic (A) or manual (M).
(blank)Mounting bracket included. A bracket ships by default; J orders it without.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
(blank)PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.

Field order is size, port, drain, bracket, grade, thread — a blank position takes the default. Example: GF300-10AJW is a 300 body, PT3/8", automatic drain, no bracket, 5 µm element, PT thread.

Size Class

  • GF200PT1/8" - PT1/4"
  • GF300PT1/4" - PT1/2"
  • GF400PT3/8" - PT1/2"
  • GF600PT3/4" - PT1"

A larger body carries a larger port and passes more air at the same pressure drop. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom rather than from a single rated figure. The GF600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the Airtac GF Filter GF400C15MW Is Used

factory

Stamping-press shop air drop

Installed on the air drop feeding a stamping press clutch and counterbalance circuits, the filter strips water and pipe scale carried from the compressor room before they reach the press valves.

precision_manufacturing

CNC machining cell

Mounted ahead of the pneumatic manifold on a CNC machining centre, the 5 um element keeps airborne particles and condensate out of the tool-clamp and pallet-lock cylinders.

view_module

Carton packaging line

Placed on the supply to case-erector and carton-sealer cylinders, it removes line moisture so adhesive nozzles and sealing cylinders keep cycling without water slugs.

Is the Airtac GF Filter GF400C15MW the Right Filter?

Size 400 with a 1/2 inch port sits in the upper-middle of the G-series range; step to 600 or down to 300 according to the flow your line needs, and check the published flow curve before ordering. The 5 um W element suits lines that need finer particulate capture than the 40 um standard. The manual drain is the right pick where an operator is on site to bleed the bowl; automatic and differential-pressure drain versions are alternatives, and they also carry the full 1.0 MPa (145 psi) inlet rating versus 0-0.9 MPa for this manual-drain unit. PT is the standard thread, with G (BSPP) and NPT available as catalogue options. A bracket is included, and a no-bracket J version exists.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (See datasheet here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain: differential, automatic or manual
  • ✓ Manual drain caps inlet at 0.9 MPa
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Bracket needed, or order with J

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, and follow the airflow arrow.
  • check Put the filter first in the air-preparation line.
  • check Keep inlet pressure within 0.15 - 1.0 MPa (22 - 145 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).
  • check Replace the 40 µm element when pressure loss rises.

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents or exposed to synthetic oils that attack polycarbonate — wipe it with a dry cloth. A filter removes water and particulate only; it does not regulate pressure or add lubrication.

Airtac GF Filter GF400C15MW FAQ

AirTAC publishes filter performance as flow curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote one number here. Send us your line pressure and air demand and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request.

The manual drain means an operator vents accumulated condensate by hand, and it also sets this unit's inlet pressure at 0-0.9 MPa instead of the 1.0 MPa (145 psi) rating of the automatic and differential-pressure drain versions. If the filter sits where nobody drains it regularly, choose the A (automatic) or default differential-pressure drain version instead.
