The AirTAC Airtac MAJ Double Rod Adjustable Stainless Steel Mini Cylinder MAJ16X200-50S is a genuine double acting, adjustable stroke standard round-body mini air cylinder with a Ø16mm bore and 200mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a stainless-steel barrel with a hard-chrome-plated rod for reliable, mildly corrosion-resistant service.
Need one cylinder to reach several stop depths? The MAJ16X200-50S pairs a 200 mm base stroke with a 50 mm trim window, set by an external stop screw without touching the air circuit. Rated at 100.5 N push and 86.4 N pull on 0.5 MPa, plan real work around 60 N - that is roughly a 5 kg vertical lift once you keep a 2:1 margin.
Its stainless round barrel with a hard-chrome plated 6 mm rod shrugs off damp corners, splash zones and outdoor cabinets where painted minis rust. Riveted aluminium covers keep the compact body sealed, and a standard-fit magnet reads to CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches for repeatable end-of-stroke signals.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC MA-series datasheet. Barrel: stainless-steel tube (round-body, riveted rolling-packed construction); piston rod: carbon steel with 20µm hard-chrome plating; covers: aluminium alloy. Thread options: PT (blank) / G / NPT. Every MA-series cylinder ships with a built-in magnet for CMSG / DMSG / EMSG position sensors.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 101 N | 86 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 141 N | 121 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 21 kgf | |
Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure. Size with a safety margin.
| MAJ | Standard round-body mini cylinder (adjustable-stroke). |
|---|---|
| 16 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×200 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| -S | Built-in magnet for CMSG / DMSG / EMSG sensors (standard on MA series). |
| CA / U / CM | Back-cover type: CA pivot, U flat-end, CM round-end. |
MA-family variants: MA / MAC (double acting ±cushion), MSA / MTA (single acting push / pull), MAD / MACD (double rod ±cushion), MAJ / MACJ (adjustable stroke ±cushion), MAR (cushioned with integrated F/U mount). Mounting accessories: FA flange, LB foot, SDB pivot; plus I and Y knuckles. Thread PT (blank) / G / NPT.
Holds thin sheet-metal blanks on a drill jig with light 60 N-class effort, stop depth re-set for each jig.
Pushes a gate arm to divert small PET bottles between two lanes on a filling line, one setting per lane.
End position confirmed by a DMSG switch so the PLC only advances once the rod is fully home.
The 16 mm bore is the lightest in the series; if your fixture needs more than about 100 N at 0.5 MPa, move to the 20 mm bore at 157 N or the 25 mm at 245.3 N. The trim screw sets the extend stop only - it will not hold a load against air loss or back-drive, so add a mechanical lock where sag matters.
Choose FA flange or LB foot mounting, I or Y knuckles on the rod, and tune the extend stroke anywhere from 150 to 200 mm inside the 50 mm window while running 30-800 mm/s. The M5x0.8 ports take PT, G or NPT threads.
Quick checklist
Push is 100.5 N and pull 86.4 N at 0.5 MPa; raise supply to 0.7 MPa and you get 140.7 N push and 120.9 N pull. The theoretical ceiling is 20.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with rod speeds of 30-800 mm/s.
No - every MAJ ships with a built-in magnet as standard, so CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches simply clip onto the stainless barrel and report extend and retract positions without ordering a special piston.
