The AirTAC Airtac MAJ Double Rod Adjustable Stainless Steel Mini Cylinder MAJ25X80-50S is a genuine double acting, adjustable stroke standard round-body mini air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 80mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a stainless-steel barrel with a hard-chrome-plated rod for reliable, mildly corrosion-resistant service.
Built on a riveted stainless round barrel with a hard-chromed 10 mm rod, the MAJ25X80-50S is a double-acting mini cylinder whose extend stroke can be wound back on site by up to 50 mm with an external stop screw. Air works both ways: 245 N of push and 206 N of pull at 0.5 MPa, inside a 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating band. Fixed anti-impact pads ease the piston into each end of travel, softening the landing without acting as an adjustable air cushion.
Plan on roughly 147 N of that 245 N rating for real work at 0.5 MPa - a sensible margin that covers lifting jigs of about 12 kg vertically once the 25 kg theoretical lift is halved for a 2:1 factor. Every unit carries its magnet as standard, so CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches snap straight onto the barrel without a special-order piston.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC MA-series datasheet. Barrel: stainless-steel tube (round-body, riveted rolling-packed construction); piston rod: carbon steel with 20µm hard-chrome plating; covers: aluminium alloy. Thread options: PT (blank) / G / NPT. Every MA-series cylinder ships with a built-in magnet for CMSG / DMSG / EMSG position sensors.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure. Size with a safety margin.
| MAJ | Standard round-body mini cylinder (adjustable-stroke). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×80 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -50 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| -S | Built-in magnet for CMSG / DMSG / EMSG sensors (standard on MA series). |
| CA / U / CM | Back-cover type: CA pivot, U flat-end, CM round-end. |
MA-family variants: MA / MAC (double acting ±cushion), MSA / MTA (single acting push / pull), MAD / MACD (double rod ±cushion), MAJ / MACJ (adjustable stroke ±cushion), MAR (cushioned with integrated F/U mount). Mounting accessories: FA flange, LB foot, SDB pivot; plus I and Y knuckles. Thread PT (blank) / G / NPT.
Shortens the throw to kick off-spec bottles off a food-line conveyor, where the stainless barrel shrugs off repeated washdown.
Closes a swing clamp over drill bushings; 147 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa holds steel parts without marking them.
Drives a small parts slide while a DMSG switch confirms full extension of the trimmed stroke, no special magnet needed.
If 245 N at 0.5 MPa is more than the task needs, the bore 20 MAJ gives 157 N push at the same pressure; step up to bore 32 when 402 N is required. The stop screw is a mechanical end stop for extension only - it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can still drift if air is lost. Mount on an FA flange or LB foot, and add an I or Y rod knuckle where the load hinges.
Quick checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245 N and pulls 206 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 343 N push and 289 N pull. Theoretical maximum force at 1.0 MPa is 50 kgf. Supply 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-800 mm/s. Air ports are 1/8 inch (PT, G or NPT thread) and the rod nose thread is M10x1.25.
An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke anywhere within the ordered 50 mm window; it never lengthens travel past the 80 mm nominal stroke. It is a mechanical end stop, not a load-holding brake - with air off, the piston can still be pushed back. Fixed bumper pads absorb the landing at each end.
