The AirTAC Airtac MAJ Double Rod Adjustable Stainless Steel Mini Cylinder MAJ32X70-10S is a genuine double acting, adjustable stroke standard round-body mini air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 70mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a stainless-steel barrel with a hard-chrome-plated rod for reliable, mildly corrosion-resistant service.
The rolling-packed stainless barrel and 20 um chrome rod of the MAJ32X70-10S stand up to outdoor and damp-shop corrosion far better than coated mini cylinders, while the riveted round body stays slim enough for tight machine cells. Double acting, it pushes 402 N at 0.5 MPa (563 N at 0.7 MPa) and pulls 345.6 N, and a 10 mm external trim window lets you set an exact extend end stop per product without shimming the mount.
Sizing tip: keep real work near 241 N at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the 402 N rating) so the cylinder finishes its stroke cleanly against tooling. A magnet sits in every piston as standard, letting DMSG, CMSG or EMSG switches read both end positions immediately. Note there is no mid-stroke lock - cut the supply and the piston coasts to the bumper or moves under load, so external support is needed for held loads.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC MA-series datasheet. Barrel: stainless-steel tube (round-body, riveted rolling-packed construction); piston rod: carbon steel with 20µm hard-chrome plating; covers: aluminium alloy. Thread options: PT (blank) / G / NPT. Every MA-series cylinder ships with a built-in magnet for CMSG / DMSG / EMSG position sensors.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 402 N | 346 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 563 N | 484 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 82 kgf | |
Actual usable force is lower than theoretical due to friction and back-pressure. Size with a safety margin.
| MAJ | Standard round-body mini cylinder (adjustable-stroke). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×70 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -10 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| -S | Built-in magnet for CMSG / DMSG / EMSG sensors (standard on MA series). |
| CA / U / CM | Back-cover type: CA pivot, U flat-end, CM round-end. |
MA-family variants: MA / MAC (double acting ±cushion), MSA / MTA (single acting push / pull), MAD / MACD (double rod ±cushion), MAJ / MACJ (adjustable stroke ±cushion), MAR (cushioned with integrated F/U mount). Mounting accessories: FA flange, LB foot, SDB pivot; plus I and Y knuckles. Thread PT (blank) / G / NPT.
An index or lockout pin on a small CNC fixture, where the 10 mm trim sets exact engagement depth and the 402 N push holds the pin seated.
Pushing light cartons off a takeaway conveyor at up to 800 mm/s, with about 241 N of usable force covering box weight and guide friction easily.
A weather-exposed latch on a solar or telecom cabinet - the stainless round body and chrome rod shrug off rain that would rust a painted mini.
Compare against the MAJ25 (245 N push at 0.5 MPa) for lighter duty or the MAJ40 (628 N) when you need to press or lift harder. FA flange and LB foot mounts cover flange and foot needs; I / Y knuckles handle pivoting linkages. Rod thread is M10x1.25 with 1/8" ports (PT blank, G or NPT). At 70 mm stroke the exposed rod invites side loads - guide the workpiece or keep thrust axial to protect the bearing and the chrome surface.
Quick checklist
Push 402.2 N and pull 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa; push 563.0 N and pull 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa; theoretical maximum 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-800 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um, fluid air only.
The stop screw is an external mechanical end stop that shortens the extend stroke anywhere within the ordered 10 mm window - you trim travel, you cannot lengthen it past the rated stroke. Fixed bumper pads absorb the impact at the ends but are not adjustable air cushions (that is the MAC family). And because the adjuster is an end stop only, it will not hold a load if air pressure is lost.
