The AirTAC MGD20X450S is a JIS round-body mini cylinder, double acting, with a through rod that exits both covers. Because the 8 mm rod occupies the piston area on each side, the effective area is the rod-side area in both directions, so output is equal both ways: about 131.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 184.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical maximum of 26.9 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 450 mm stroke is a made-to-order length that exceeds the 300 mm standard maximum for this 20 mm bore.
The through rod resists rotation and side load, keeps stroke-end position repeatable, and leaves the rear rod end free to carry a switch flag or drive a second load. A fixed anti-impact bumper pad softens each stroke end, though it does not lock or hold the piston; on air loss the load drifts, so use an external rod lock or pilot check valve where holding is required. A practical working load is about 79 N (roughly 8 kg), and for a vertical figure halve that again to about 4 kg. Choose the MGD when you need anti-rotation, dual-end output or a rear-mounted stop or flag; choose the single-rod MG if only one rod end is needed, or the MGCD if you need an adjustable cushion or a 50/63 mm bore. Mount with the LB foot or FA flange and add I or Y rod knuckles; SDB/CB pivots are not available on the double-rod body. The -S code means the magnet is fitted for CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensing.
