About the Airtac MGD Double Rod Mini Cylinder MGD32X125
The AirTAC MGD32X125 is a JIS-standard round-body mini cylinder, double acting and double rod: a 12 mm rod exits both the front and back covers with the same M10x1.25 male thread at each end, so the two rod ends move together. Because the rod-side piston area is active in both directions, the output force is equal either way, about 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa. Air ports are 1/8" on this bore, and the operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure.
The through-rod resists rotation and side load, keeps stroke-end position repeatable, and lets the rear rod end carry a stop or switch flag or drive a second load. Construction is a riveted SUS304 stainless barrel with a hard-chrome steel rod, suited to damp and washdown surroundings, and a fixed anti-impact bumper pad softens each stroke end. At a realistic working load of roughly 0.6 of the push force, plan on about 210 N, or roughly 21 kg for a vertical figure. Speed range is 30-800 mm/s and temperature spans -20 to +70 C.
