Airtac TACE Guided Compact Cylinder TACE100X25

The AirTAC Airtac TACE Guided Compact Cylinder TACE100X25 is a genuine double acting, non-rotating ISO 21287 compact air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 25mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. Its short compact envelope saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. Twin guide rods keep the tooling from rotating.

About the Airtac TACE Guided Compact Cylinder TACE100X25

Packing a 100 mm bore into an ISO 21287 short body, the TACE100X25 is a double acting, non-rotating compact cylinder that pushes with 3927 N and pulls with 3769.9 N at 0.5 MPa, rising to 5497.8 N on push at 0.7 MPa. Twin guide rods on a yoke stop the tooling rotating and carry side load, so a press plate or gripper stays square without an external guide. The 20 mm rod ends in a female M12x1.75 thread, and air connects through a 1/4" PT port.

The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome-plated rod runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, from -20 to +70 C, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end. The short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into heavy weld fixtures and press stations where a full-length body will not fit. In practice, plan for about 2356 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, and with a 2:1 margin this bore lifts about 200 kg vertically. Position sensing needs the optional -S magnet code; without it there is no magnet and no CMSE / DMSE switch can be mounted.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACE-series (ISO 21287) datasheet. Body: hard-anodized aluminium alloy; piston rod: S45C carbon steel with hard-chrome plating; guide rods: stainless steel (Ø12-40) / S45C (larger). Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G. A built-in magnet is OPTIONAL — add the -S code to fit CMSE / DMSE position sensors.

Where the Airtac TACE Guided Compact Cylinder TACE100X25 Is Used

compress

Bearing press-fit into gearbox housings

A 25 mm stroke is enough to seat a bearing into an automotive gearbox housing in one hit, and 3927 N of push at 0.5 MPa covers typical interference fits while the twin-guide yoke keeps the arbor square to the bore.

precision_manufacturing

Clamping steel weldments on a machining fixture

On a CNC fixture for welded brackets, the yoke's non-rotating guide rods hold the clamp pad flat against uneven weldments, and about 2356 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa keeps the part locked through milling cuts.

forklift

Short-lift positioning of heavy pallet plates

In a palletizing cell, a 25 mm kick stroke indexes steel plates onto rollers; with a 2:1 margin this cylinder lifts about 200 kg vertically, and the fixed TPU bumper quiets the end of each short move.

Is the Airtac TACE Guided Compact Cylinder TACE100X25 the Right Cylinder?

At 2513.3 N push at 0.5 MPa, the 80 mm bore suits lighter clamp loads; step up to this 100 mm bore when you need 3927 N, or when the twin-guide yoke must carry real side load from offset tooling. Note that the piston drifts if air is lost, so for a held load add a rod lock or pilot check valve. Mount with FB flange, CA/CB clevis, CR or FTC, and order the -S code if CMSE / DMSE position switches are planned. A 25 mm stroke is well inside the 300 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it ships as a standard build.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Required force at your working pressure
  • ✓ Short stroke fits the compact body
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S if you need the magnet for sensors
  • ✓ Rod type (female / male B) & mount (FA/LB/CA)

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Use clean air filtered to 40µm or finer.
  • check Keep within 0.15 – 1.0 MPa operating pressure.
  • check Compact body: keep the stroke short and avoid side load on the rod.
  • check Do not dismantle the threaded front/back covers.
  • check Keep speed within the rated range; the TPU bumper absorbs stroke-end energy.
  • check Installation by qualified personnel per AirTAC docs.

Airtac TACE Guided Compact Cylinder TACE100X25 FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes with 3927 N and pulls with 3769.9 N; at 0.7 MPa push rises to 5497.8 N and pull to 5277.9 N. The theoretical maximum is 800.9 kgf at 1.0 MPa. For sizing, treat roughly 2356 N as the usable working force at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting about 200 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

It is an ISO 21287 compact cylinder with a hard-anodized aluminium body, an S45C hard-chrome-plated 20 mm rod, and a fixed TPU bumper at both ends that decelerates the piston at each end of travel. Mounting options are FB flange, CA/CB clevis, CR and FTC. Position switches (CMSE / DMSE) work only when you order the optional -S magnet; the standard TACE100X25 has no magnet fitted.
