The AirTAC GFR400C10AC2WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT3/8, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400C10AC2WT is a size 400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and regulates downstream pressure in one body. This configuration carries a 3/8 in NPT port, a 5 um filter element (code W), an automatic drain that expels collected condensate without manual attention, a round external gauge reading in psi, and the standard regulator with an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi). Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi) and the working temperature range is -5 to 70 C (non-freezing). The bowl on this size is polycarbonate, and a mounting bracket is included.
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 to 1 in, and with choices of drain type, filter grade, gauge style and scale, thread (PT standard, G and NPT as order options) and bracket. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Feeding filtered, regulated air to a CNC tool changer and clamping circuit, where the 5 um element guards fine pneumatic valves and the psi gauge lets the setter dial in clamp pressure at the machine.
Conditioning the air feeding conveyor stoppers, pushers and bagging cylinders on a packaging line, with the automatic drain handling condensate on a line that runs across shifts without bowl attention.
Regulating supply pressure to a robotic gripper and pick-and-place circuit, where stable, filtered air keeps grip force repeatable and the round gauge gives the integrator a visible setpoint.
Start with the port step: size 400 covers 3/8 in here, and the G-series steps up through 200, 300, 400 and 600 as port and flow capacity rise - match the step to your line's air demand. For drain, choose automatic (this unit) where the bowl is hard to reach or the duty is continuous; manual suits attended installations; the differential-pressure default drains on a pressure drop. On filtration, 40 um is the standard element and 5 um (code W, fitted here) protects finer downstream components. Gauge scale is selectable: MPa, psi or bar; this unit ships with a round psi gauge. Thread is PT as standard, with G (BSPP) and NPT orderable - this unit is NPT. A bracket is included here; on GF/GR/GL/GFR it can be omitted with code J.
One honest note on sizing: AirTAC publishes flow for this family as curves, not a single rated figure, so we do not quote a flow number. Send us your application details and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR family as curves rather than a single rated figure, so we do not quote a flow number for this unit. Tell us your port size, downstream demand and line pressure and we will confirm the sizing against the datasheet on request before you order.
The A in the code selects the automatic drain, which expels collected condensate from the bowl without anyone opening it - useful on continuous-duty or hard-to-reach installations. The alternatives in this family are manual drain (code M) and the differential-pressure drain, which is the default and drains on a pressure drop. Filter grade is a separate choice: 40 um is standard and the 5 um element (code W) is fitted on this unit.
