The AirTAC GFR400C15AC1WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.
The AirTAC GFR400C15AC1WT is a size 400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure at your setpoint in a single body. This configuration is threaded NPT1/2 (1/2 in), carries the fine 5 um filter element instead of the standard 40 um, drains condensate automatically, and is fitted with an external round pressure gauge scaled in MPa. The standard regulator covers an adjustment range of 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the unit is rated to a maximum inlet pressure of 1.0 MPa (145 psi) at -5 to 70 C (non-freezing).
This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR filter-regulator family is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with port sizes from 1/8 in to 1 in, a choice of differential-pressure, automatic or manual drain, 40 um or 5 um filtration, gauge style and scale options, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow figures for this series are published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing and datasheet details for your application before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.
A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Point-of-use air preparation at spray booths: the 5 um element polishes the supply and the regulator holds a steady setpoint to the paint guns, while the automatic drain clears condensate without daily attention.
Feeding pneumatic workholding clamps on a machining centre, where the regulator keeps clamp pressure fixed at the setpoint and filtered air protects the clamp cylinders between the shop air main and the fixture.
Supplying stoppers, pushers and diverters on a bottling or carton conveyor line, with the automatic drain handling condensate carry-over from a long wet air main and the round MPa gauge giving operators a visible setpoint check.
Step up through the size range (200/300/400/600) and its port sizes (1/8 in to 1 in) to match the air demand of your circuit; this size 400 unit with its 1/2 in NPT port sits in the upper mid-range of the family. Choose the drain to suit access: automatic drain (as fitted here) where the unit is hard to reach or the line runs wet, manual drain where an operator checks regularly, or the default differential-pressure drain. Pick 5 um filtration, as on this model, when downstream equipment needs finer air than the standard 40 um element provides. Gauge style (embedded square standard, external round optional) and scale (MPa, psi or bar) are selectable, and the thread can be ordered as PT (standard), G or NPT - this unit is NPT. A mounting bracket is included. Because flow for the G-series is published as curves and not as a single rated figure, send us your application details and we will confirm sizing against the datasheet before you order.
Quick checklist
The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.
AirTAC publishes flow for the GFR series as characteristic curves rather than a single rated figure, so no single flow number can be quoted here. Send us your line pressure, setpoint and downstream demand and we will confirm the sizing from the datasheet on request before you order.
This unit is ordered with the automatic drain option (code A) instead of the default differential-pressure drain or the manual-drain version. It ejects collected condensate on its own, which suits installations that are mounted high, tucked inside a cabinet, or on lines that run wet - no operator has to remember to bleed the bowl. Note the standard regulator adjustment range for the automatic-drain version is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi).
