GFR400C15AC3WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um

The AirTAC GFR400C15AC3WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um is a genuine G-series filter regulator: water separation, 40 µm particulate filtration and balanced-type pressure regulation combined in a single body. It has See datasheet ports, a differential-pressure drain and regulates 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). It does not lubricate — add a GL lubricator, or order the GFC two-unit set, if downstream equipment needs oil.

About the GFR400C15AC3WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um

The AirTAC GFR400C15AC3WT is a size 400 filter regulator: it removes water and particulate from compressed air and holds downstream pressure in a single body. This configuration is threaded NPT1/2, carries the finer 5 um filter element, drains condensate automatically, and is fitted with a round pressure gauge reading in bar. Maximum inlet pressure is 1.0 MPa (145 psi), the regulating range is 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi), and the operating temperature is -5 to 70 C, non-freezing.

This is a genuine AirTAC part. The GFR series is available in sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 with ports from 1/8 to 1 inch, a choice of 40 um standard or 5 um filtration, differential-pressure, automatic or manual drains, and PT, G or NPT threads. Flow is published as curves rather than a single rating, so ask us to confirm the datasheet figures for your application.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC G-series air-preparation data. The regulating band is set by the drain type: automatic and differential-pressure drains regulate 0.15 - 0.9 MPa, a manual drain regulates 0.05 - 0.9 MPa. Standard type, regulating 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi). Air must not freeze in the unit. Flow curves, weight and outline dimensions are not published in our data set — ask us and we will confirm from the factory datasheet.

GFR400G-series filter regulator, 400 body — sets the port range.
C1Port size See datasheet. This body offers 10 = PT3/8", 15 = PT1/2".
(blank)Drain: Differential-pressure drain — this also sets the regulating band (0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi)).
(blank)Standard type. Blank is standard, L is the low-pressure type.
(blank)Mounting bracket included.
(blank)Pressure gauge fitted (blank).
(blank)Gauge shape: Factory standard. C is round, F is square.
(blank)Gauge scale: Factory standard. 1 is MPa, 2 is psi, 3 is bar.
(blank)Filtering grade 40 µm. Only 40 µm (blank) and 5 µm (W) exist.
(blank)PT thread. PT is the default; G is BSPP and T is NPT.
(blank)No reverse-flow valve (the default).

Field order is size, port, drain, type, bracket, gauge, shape, scale, grade, thread, reflux — a blank position takes the default. Example: GFR300-08 is a 300 body, PT1/4", differential drain, standard type, bracket included, gauge fitted, 40 µm, PT thread, no reflux valve.

A larger body carries a larger port and holds set pressure better as flow rises. AirTAC publishes flow only as curves, so size the body from your peak demand with headroom. The GFR600 uses an aluminium-alloy bowl; the 200, 300 and 400 bodies use PC.

Where the GFR400C15AC3WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um Is Used

factory

Automotive paint line

Feeding spray guns and air-assisted applicators on a paint line, where water and grit must be stripped out and a steady set pressure kept at the guns so finish quality does not wander between shifts.

conveyor_belt

Packaging and case-sealing line

Supplying the cylinders and grippers that index cartons along a packaging conveyor, with the automatic drain clearing condensate through long unattended runs and the 5 um element protecting the valve internals.

precision_manufacturing

CNC pneumatic clamping station

Regulating the air to a machine-tool clamping fixture, where the round bar gauge gives the operator a direct reading at the machine and clean, stable pressure keeps clamp force repeatable part after part.

Is the GFR400C15AC3WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um the Right Unit?

Sizing starts with the port and flow: step up through sizes 200, 300, 400 and 600 as your air demand grows - this unit is size 400 with a 1/2 inch NPT port. Choose the drain to match access: automatic (as here) suits unmanned or hard-to-reach installations, manual suits attended points, and the differential-pressure default drains on a pressure drop. The 5 um element (code W) is the finer option versus the 40 um standard; pick it where downstream valves and cylinders need cleaner air. Gauge scale (MPa, psi or bar), PT/G/NPT thread and mounting bracket are all orderable choices, and the size 400 bowl is polycarbonate. Flow is published as curves, not a single rating, so ask us to confirm sizing against your application before ordering.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Body size for your peak flow (See datasheet here)
  • ✓ Element 40 µm or 5 µm
  • ✓ Drain sets the regulating band
  • ✓ Gauge fitted, shape and scale
  • ✓ Thread PT, G (BSPP) or NPT
  • ✓ Oil needed downstream? Use GFC instead

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Mount vertically, bowl down, following the airflow arrow.
  • check One body does the filtering and the regulating — no separate regulator needed.
  • check Keep inlet pressure at or below 1.0 MPa (145 psi).
  • check Adjust only within 0.15 - 0.9 MPa (20 - 130 psi).
  • check Drain condensate before the bowl fills.
  • check Keep the unit above freezing (-5 to +70 °C, unfreeze).

The PC bowl must not be cleaned with solvents — wipe it with a dry cloth. Without the K option, air cannot flow back through the unit. A filter regulator adds no oil to the line.

GFR400C15AC3WT AirTAC Filter Regulator NPT1/2, 5 um FAQ

AirTAC publishes flow for this series as curves, not as a single rated figure, so we do not quote a number here. Tell us your application and air demand and we will confirm the datasheet flow curve and check the size 400 / 1/2 inch port against it on request.

The 40 um element is the standard grade and suits general plant air. The 5 um element (code W) is the finer option, fitted on this unit, for lines where downstream valves, cylinders or instruments need cleaner air. Both grades are orderable across the GFR range.
