This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE12X75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE12X75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP12X75SB is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE12X75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP12X75SB is a double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, with a 12 mm bore, a 75 mm stroke and a 6 mm male-threaded rod (the B code). At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical maximum of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 75 mm stroke is longer than the 50 mm standard maximum for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is ACE12X75, the ISO 21287 successor in the same force class.
The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) filtered air at 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end. Its short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which suits tight jigs and small fixtures. Because the S code is fitted, the built-in magnet works with CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches for end-of-stroke sensing. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 60% of the rating), which lifts about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A plain cylinder of this type does not hold position when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check valve for a held load.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE12X75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACE12X75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Ejects small machined pins or stamped parts from a die or nest, where the 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough and the short body fits inside the tooling footprint.
Drives a 75 mm indexing slide on a compact assembly station; the fitted -S magnet with CMSE / DMSE switches confirms both end positions to the PLC.
Presses a test probe or sample holder in a benchtop rig, lifting about 2.9 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin at 0.5 MPa.
For light clamping or positioning around 56.5 N at 0.5 MPa, the 12 mm bore is the right size; if your load needs more, the 16 mm bore delivers 100.5 N at the same pressure, and the 20 mm bore reaches 157.1 N. If 56.5 N is far above your need, check whether a smaller option exists in your fixture before oversizing. This unit has a male rod thread and PT ports; FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings bolt to the same face. Since the ACP is discontinued, order ACE12X75 as the drop-in successor and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull; theoretical maximum 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 12 mm bore, 75 mm made-to-order stroke (standard maximum for this bore is 50 mm), 6 mm male-threaded rod, M5x0.8 ports, 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating pressure, 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, -20 to +70 C, and 30-500 mm/s speed.
Order ACE12X75: swap the P for an E and you get the current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Because the ACP was DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before the swap. The ACE family also carries the optional magnet and the FA/FB, LB, CA/CB mounting range.
