This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED100X15SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED100X15SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD100X15SB is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 15mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED100X15SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting compact cylinder with a rod exiting BOTH covers, so the 100 mm bore delivers the same 3681.6 N at 0.5 MPa (5154.2 N at 0.7 MPa) whether it pushes or pulls - both strokes work on the rod-side area. The 25 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag. The 15 mm stroke suits short clamp-and-return moves at 30-500 mm/s. Note: the ACPD family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACED100X15, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits tight presses, guarding and gantry fixtures. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a fixed TPU bumper at each end, and the male rod thread (B code) plus the fitted -S magnet lets you attach rod knuckles and CMSE / DMSE switches directly. In practice, plan on about 2209 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of rating), which lifts about 187 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED100X15SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 3682 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 5154 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 751 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 100 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×15 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 15 mm stroke and 3681.6 N per side at 0.5 MPa suit a stamping or marking head on an aluminium extrusion line where full travel is never needed.
With a rod on both covers, a CNC fixture can clamp from either end with identical 5154.2 N force at 0.7 MPa - no re-plumbing for pull side.
The through-rod resists side load from cartons on a bottling conveyor, and the fitted magnet with a DMSE switch confirms the push position each cycle.
At 3681.6 N per side at 0.5 MPa, the 100 mm bore covers heavy clamping and pressing; step down to the 80 mm bore (2356.2 N) if the load is lighter, or up to nothing larger in this range - 100 mm is the biggest bore offered. Remember the piston drifts if air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check where a load must stay put. FA/FB flange and LB foot mountings bolt to the standard face, and this unit already carries the optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. Order the ACED100X15 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 footprint first.
Replacement checklist
Yes - because a rod exits both covers, both strokes use the rod-side area. Output is 3681.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 5154.2 N at 0.7 MPa, equal push and pull, with a maximum of 750.8 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um, temperature -20 to +70 C. This model is discontinued; the ACED100X15 is the current replacement in the same force class.
Order the ACED100X15 (same P-to-E swap, same 100 mm bore and 15 mm stroke) and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture, since the ACP was built to a DIN-standard footprint. This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE reed or DMSE solid-state switches mount directly on the 25 mm through-rod. The fixed TPU bumpers at both ends only soften end-of-travel - they do not hold a load if air is lost, so use a rod lock or pilot check for that.
