About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD100X45
A double acting, double-rod compact cylinder built to the DIN-standard ACP layout, the ACPD100X45 pushes a 100 mm bore through a 45 mm stroke and delivers 3681.6 N in BOTH directions at 0.5 MPa, because the through-rod leaves the same rod-side area on each side. At 0.7 MPa that rises to 5154.2 N either way, with a peak of 750.8 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The hard-anodized aluminium body and S45C hard-chrome rod run on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, from -20 to +70 C.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why this bore size fits heavy presses, clamps and lift stations where a full-length body will not. A rod exits both covers, so the back-end rod can carry a sensor flag or a second tool and the through-rod resists rotation and side load. Fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED100X45, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before you swap. As a sizing rule, treat roughly 2209 N (about 225 kg of thrust) as the usable working force at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating.

Step down to 80 mm if your fixture is tight on width; step up is not available inside the family. The 45 mm stroke sits well inside the 300 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a catalogue item, not a made-to-order length. Vertically, the rod-side force equates to about 375 kg of lift at 0.5 MPa; halve that for a 2:1 margin and it lifts about 187 kg with room to spare. Remember the piston drifts if air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check valve for a held load. This version has no magnet: order the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE switches. Mounting brackets FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis, CR, SDB pivot and FTC bolt to the standard face. Since ACPD is discontinued, order the ACED100X45 and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
