About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD100X50
Double acting with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD100X50 is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder in the 100 mm bore class. Because each stroke works on the rod-side area, output is identical in both directions: 3681.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 5154.2 N at 0.7 MPa. The 25 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load, carries a symmetric mount, and lets the rear rod drive a sensor flag, while fixed TPU bumpers decelerate both ends. Speed range is 30-500 mm/s.
The short ISO 21287 body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why this bore size fits heavy gantries and press fixtures with tight envelopes. In practice, plan on about 2209 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rating), which corresponds to lifting about 187 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. This model is no longer produced; the current drop-in is the ACED100X50, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

At 3681.6 N per direction, the 100 mm bore sits at the top of the ACPD range; step down to the 80 mm bore (2356.2 N) for lighter clamping or stay here for press and lift duty. Stroke 50 mm is well inside the 300 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so no made-to-order build is needed. Remember that a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check if the load must stay put. Mounting uses FA/FB flange or LB foot on the ISO 21287 face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; this code has no magnet fitted.
