About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X275
A double acting compact cylinder with a piston rod leaving both covers, the ACPD40X275 pushes and pulls with identical force because each stroke works on the rod-side area: 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa and 800.5 N at 0.7 MPa in either direction. The 40 mm bore runs on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the 275 mm stroke is a made-to-order length above the 200 mm standard maximum for this bore. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACED40X275.
The through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, while the rear rod can carry a sensor flag or a second tooling plate. The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into deep guards and long-stroke gantries where a full-length body will not fit. At 0.5 MPa, plan on roughly 343 N of usable work, which lifts about 29 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. FA/FB flange and LB foot brackets bolt straight to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends.
