About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X35B
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD40X35B pushes and pulls with identical output: 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa and 800.5 N at 0.7 MPa in either direction, because both strokes work on the rod-side area. The 12 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mounting face, and lets the rear rod carry a sensor flag, while fixed TPU bumpers pad both ends of the 35 mm stroke.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, cutting roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures and guarding. At 0.5 MPa plan on about 343 N of usable thrust rather than the full 571.8 N rating, which corresponds to lifting roughly 29 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED40X35, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
