About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X45
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD40X45 delivers 571.8 N in either direction at 0.5 MPa (800.5 N at 0.7 MPa), because both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 40 mm bore. The 12 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, while the back-end rod can carry a sensor flag. This model is discontinued; the current-production successor is the ACED40X45 in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287 body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures where a full-length body will not. In practical terms, plan on roughly 343 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 29 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, speed spans 30-500 mm/s, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches when ordered.
