About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X60SB
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD40X60SB pushes and pulls with identical force because each stroke works on the rod-side area: 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa and 800.5 N at 0.7 MPa in either direction. The 40 mm bore drives a 12 mm through-rod over a 60 mm stroke, with a male rod thread (B code) on both ends and a 1/8" PT port. The through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, so the rear rod can carry a sensor flag or a second tooling plate.
This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be clamped to the hard-anodized aluminium body for end-position sensing. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end and the speed range is 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). In practical terms the 571.8 N rating supports roughly 343 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 29 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that the ACPD family is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACED40X60, same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
