About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X65B
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD40X65B delivers 571.8 N in each direction at 0.5 MPa, because both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 40 mm bore. The 65 mm stroke sits well inside the 200 mm standard range for this bore, and the male rod thread (B code) on each 12 mm rod end takes a male-threaded knuckle without adapters. A fixed TPU bumper at each cover takes the end-of-travel hit.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, so it saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder - useful inside machine guards and slide fixtures. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C. At 0.5 MPa plan on about 343 N of usable work, which is roughly 29 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. Note: this model is discontinued; the current-production successor is ACED40X65.

Replacing the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X65B with the ACED40X65B
For a 65 mm stroke needing about 570 N both ways, the 40 mm bore is the right size; step down to the 32 mm bore (345.6 N at 0.5 MPa) for lighter clamps or up to the 50 mm bore (881.2 N) for heavier press fits. The piston drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must stay put. Mounting bolts to the FA/FB flange or LB foot face, and CMSE / DMSE switches only work if you order the -S magnet code - this unit has no magnet. Replace with ACED40X65 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
