About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X70SB
The ACPD40X70SB is a double acting, double-rod compact cylinder: a piston rod exits both covers, so the 70 mm stroke delivers 571.8 N in either direction at 0.5 MPa (800.5 N at 0.7 MPa) because both strokes work on the rod-side area. The male-threaded 12 mm rod (B code) carries no rotation tendency thanks to the symmetric through-rod, and the back-end rod can drive a sensor flag or a second tool. The optional -S magnet is fitted on this model, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches mount directly on the hard-anodized aluminium body.
Its ISO 21287-class short body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight pick-and-place gantries and fixture plates. At 0.5 MPa plan on about 343 N of usable work force, which corresponds to lifting roughly 29 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
