This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED40X75B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED40X75B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD40X75B is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø40mm bore and 75mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED40X75B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting ACPD40X75B is a DIN-standard compact cylinder with a rod exiting both covers, so it delivers 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa (800.5 N at 0.7 MPa) in each direction because both strokes use the rod-side area. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mounting face, and lets the rear rod carry a sensor flag on packaging or assembly machinery. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end, and speed spans 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
The hard-anodized aluminium body with S45C hard-chrome rod keeps the short ISO 21287-class footprint roughly 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and gantries. At 0.5 MPa the 571.8 N output works out to about 58 kgf, so plan on lifting roughly 29 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED40X75, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED40X75B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 572 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 800 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 117 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 40 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The through-rod lets a CNC jig clamp from one side while the rear rod drives a position flag, with 571.8 N holding force available identically in both directions at 0.5 MPa.
On a bottling line transfer table, the equal 800.5 N at 0.7 MPa both ways means one cylinder pushes cartons left or right without recalculating pull force.
A 75 mm stroke reciprocating guide on a small press feeder benefits from the symmetric mount and 30-500 mm/s speed band, with the fixed TPU bumper decelerating each end.
Size both ways before ordering: the 32 mm bore gives 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa while the 50 mm bore reaches 881.2 N, so pick the 40 mm only when your 75 mm stroke job sits between those forces. This unit has the B male rod thread (M8x1.25) and PT ports; the female-thread version drops the B code. Remember that a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check if the load must stay put. Mounting brackets (FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis and more) bolt to the ISO 21287 face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches; without -S there is no magnet. As ACPD is discontinued, order the ACED40X75 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
Because it is a double-rod cylinder, force is equal both ways: 571.8 N at 0.5 MPa and 800.5 N at 0.7 MPa, using the rod-side area on each stroke. At 1.0 MPa the maximum is 116.6 kgf. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure.
Order the ACED40X75, the current-production ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same 40 mm bore, 75 mm stroke and force class, but confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, since the ACP was built to the DIN standard. The ACED accepts the same FA/FB flange and LB foot bracket family, and the optional -S magnet code still enables CMSE / DMSE switches.
