This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED63X110B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED63X110B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD63X110B is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø63mm bore and 110mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED63X110B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting, double-rod compact cylinder: a piston rod exits both covers of the hard-anodized aluminium body, so the 63 mm bore delivers the same 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa on every stroke, because both sides work on the rod-side area. At 0.7 MPa that rises to 2041.3 N each way, with a peak of 297.4 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The through-rod resists rotation and side load and gives a symmetric mount, and the back-end rod can carry a sensor flag. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at each end.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs, guards and gantries where a full-length body will not fit. In practice, plan on about 875 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rating), which is a vertical lift of about 74 kg with a 2:1 margin - enough to raise a loaded pallet fixture or a steel die set. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED63X110, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED63X110B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 1458 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 2041 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 297 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 63 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×110 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The through-rod lets one 1458.1 N stroke clamp a machined housing from either side of the jig, with the male rod thread taking a custom clamping tip.
With equal force up and down, the 63 mm bore balances a 70 kg die cart lift table, while the second rod end carries a position flag for a proximity sensor.
The 110 mm stroke diverts cartons between conveyor lanes at up to 500 mm/s, and the short body fits under the guarding frame where a profile cylinder will not.
Size both ways: if 1458.1 N per side at 0.5 MPa is more than your fixture needs, the 50 mm bore gives 881.2 N in the same double-rod format; if you need more, the 80 mm bore reaches 2356.2 N. The 110 mm stroke sits well inside the 250 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so no made-to-order build is required. Remember that a plain double-rod cylinder does not hold position when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check for a held load. This unit has a male rod thread (the B code) and PT ports, with no magnet fitted; order the -S code if you want CMSE / DMSE switch capability. For new projects, specify the ACED63X110 instead, as the ACPD line is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
Yes - the double-rod design means both strokes use the rod-side area, so output is equal either way: 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa, 2041.3 N at 0.7 MPa, and a maximum of 297.4 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Never expect a larger push than pull on this model. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s.
Order the ACED63X110: swap the P for an E and you get the current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same 63 mm bore, 110 mm stroke and force class. Because the ACP was built to the DIN standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions and the FA/FB flange or LB foot pattern before swapping. Also note this unit has no magnet fitted - the -S code is what enables CMSE / DMSE switches.
