This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED80X10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED80X10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD80X10B is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø80mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED80X10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting and double rod, the ACPD80X10B pushes a 20 mm rod out of BOTH covers of an 80 mm bore, so the output force is identical in each direction: 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa, using the rod-side area on every stroke. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mounting point at each end, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag on a moving fixture. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both covers, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
This is a discontinued DIN-standard compact body in hard-anodized aluminium with an S45C hard-chrome rod; its short ISO 21287-class frame saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it fits shallow clamping nests and sliding guards. For sizing, treat about 1414 N (0.6 of the 0.5 MPa rating) as the usable working force, which lifts roughly 120 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The current-production drop-in is the ACED80X10 - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP follows DIN-standard geometry.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED80X10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 2356 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 3299 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 481 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 80 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The short 10 mm stroke and 2356.2 N bidirectional force suit a punch-press ejector that kicks stamped brackets off the die face and retracts instantly, with the through-rod keeping the pusher plate square.
A rod on each end of the 80 mm piston lets one cylinder drive a pusher bar from both sides of a bottling line conveyor, centering cartons with 3298.7 N available at 0.7 MPa.
On an automated gauge station the rear rod carries a proximity flag over a 10 mm travel, cycling at 30-500 mm/s while the front rod drives the gauge anvil.
At 80 mm bore this is the second-largest ACPD size, delivering 2356.2 N in both directions; step down to the 63 mm bore (1458.1 N) for lighter clamps or up to the 100 mm bore (3681.6 N) for heavy presses. The 10 mm stroke is well inside the 300 mm standard range for this bore. Note that a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check if the load must stay put. The B code gives a male rod thread on a 20 mm rod with a 1/4" PT port, and mounting is via FA/FB flange or LB foot. This model is discontinued; order the ACED80X10 as the current equivalent.
Replacement checklist
Because a rod exits both covers, force is equal both ways: 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a peak of 480.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), temperature -20 to +70 C, speed 30-500 mm/s. The bore is 80 mm, the rod is 20 mm with a male thread (B code), the port is 1/4" PT, and the maximum standard stroke for this bore is 300 mm.
No - the whole ACPD family is discontinued and no longer in production. The current-production drop-in is the ACED80X10 (swap the P for an E), an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture, because the ACP was built to DIN-standard geometry. Also note the magnet is the optional -S code only; this unit has none, so CMSE or DMSE switches cannot be fitted unless -S is ordered.
