About the Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD80X120B
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD80X120B pushes and pulls with identical force: 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa in either direction, because both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 80 mm bore. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag. At 0.7 MPa the same bore delivers 3298.7 N both ways, with a peak of 480.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa.
The short ISO 21287 body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight gantries and press fixtures. As a planning figure, expect about 1414 N (roughly 144 kg) of usable work at 0.5 MPa, or about 120 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end, and the male rod thread (B code) suits knuckle brackets. Note: this model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACED80X120.

Pick this bore when your fixture needs 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa in BOTH directions - the double rod means push equals pull, so no derating for the return stroke. If your load is lighter, the 63 mm size still gives 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa; if you need more, the 100 mm bore reaches 3681.6 N. The 120 mm stroke sits well inside the 300 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 80, so it is a catalog item. Remember that a plain through-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check if the load must stay put. This unit is discontinued; the ACED80X120 is the current replacement, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping from the DIN-standard ACP footprint.
