This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED80X60B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED80X60B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD80X60B is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø80mm bore and 60mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED80X60B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD80X60B is a discontinued DIN-standard compact cylinder in the 80 mm bore class. Because both strokes work on the rod-side area, it delivers an identical 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa in either direction - there is no stronger push than pull. The male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles, and the 20 mm through-rod resists rotation and side load while the rear rod can carry a sensor flag on a symmetric mount.
The hard-anodized aluminium body keeps the mounting length roughly 50% shorter than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight press fixtures and gantry clamps. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end, speed spans 30-500 mm/s, and pressure runs 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof. For real-world sizing, plan on about 1414 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa - roughly 72 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. This model is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ISO 21287 ACED80X60, so confirm mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED80X60B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 2356 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 3299 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 481 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 80 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×60 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The symmetric 2356.2 N stroke presses bearings into pump housings on both the approach and return, letting one cycle seat parts in and out of an arbor.
The 20 mm through-rod on a 60 mm stroke drives a toggle clamp on a machining fixture, with the rear rod carrying a flag for end-of-stroke verification.
Equal force in both directions grips cartons between two plates on a warehouse transfer cart, holding about 72 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
At 2356.2 N per side at 0.5 MPa, the 80 mm bore suits clamping and pressing loads in the 140 kg range; step down to the 63 mm bore (1458.1 N) for lighter jigs or up to the 100 mm bore (3681.6 N) for heavy tooling. Note that a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check if the load must stay put. This unit has no magnet fitted, so position switches are not mountable; order the -S variant for CMSE / DMSE sensors. Since ACPD is discontinued, specify the ACED80X60 and verify the ISO 21287 mounting face against your fixture.
Replacement checklist
Yes - as a double-rod cylinder both strokes use the rod-side area, so force is equal either way: 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa, with a maximum of 480.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the 1/4" PT port serves both chambers.
The hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287-class short design that saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with FA/FB flange or LB foot mounting and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. The ACPD80X60B itself is no longer produced - order the ACED80X60, the current ISO 21287 drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class, and confirm the mounting dimensions against your fixture first.
