This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED80X65S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED80X65S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD80X65S is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø80mm bore and 65mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED80X65S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod exiting both covers, the ACPD80X65S delivers 2356.2 N in each direction at 0.5 MPa because both strokes work on the rod-side area of the 80 mm bore. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mount, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag, while fixed TPU bumpers decelerate at each end. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the body.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, saving roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which suits tight gantries and press fixtures. Note the unit is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED80X65 (swap the P for an E) in the same bore, stroke and force class. For sizing, plan on about 1414 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 120 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED80X65S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 2356 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 3299 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 481 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 80 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×65 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |

Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The through-rod lets a punch or anvil mount on the rear rod while the front rod clamps, delivering 2356.2 N each way at 0.5 MPa in a body about half the length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder.
With about 120 kg of vertical lift capacity at a 2:1 margin, the 80 mm double rod raises and lowers a packaging-machine crossbar symmetrically, with CMSE switches reporting both end positions via the -S magnet.
Equal force in both directions makes the 65 mm stroke ideal for a conveyor divert station that rejects cartons left or right at 30-500 mm/s without a direction-dependent force drop.
At 2356.2 N per direction at 0.5 MPa (3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa), the 80 mm bore covers clamping and lifting in the 100-200 kg class. If your load is lighter, the 63 mm bore gives 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa; if heavier, the 100 mm bore reaches 3681.6 N. Stroke 65 mm sits well inside the 300 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a catalog item. Mount via FA/FB flange or LB foot on the ISO 21287 face, and remember a plain double-rod cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check if the load must be held. Order the ACED80X65 as the current replacement and confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
Replacement checklist
Because a rod exits both covers, force is equal both ways: 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa, on the rod-side area of the 80 mm bore. The maximum rating is 480.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end.
Order the ACED80X65, the current-production ISO 21287 successor (swap the P for an E). It matches the same 80 mm bore, 65 mm stroke and force class, and accepts the same FA/FB flange and LB foot mounting family. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, since the ACP was built to the DIN standard.
