About the Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP100X20S
A single acting pull cylinder with spring return, the ATP100X20S uses a 100 mm bore to deliver 3395.3 N of pull at 0.5 MPa (4867.9 N at 0.7 MPa), both figures already net of the return spring. The spring holds the rod extended at rest, so the unit fails to the extended position on air loss, and at least 0.2 MPa is needed before air can beat the spring. This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the body. It is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ATE100X20.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, saving roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters in tight press fixtures and gantry clamps. For sizing, plan on about 2037 N of real work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating, and expect roughly 173 kg of vertical lift capability with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, the S45C rod is hard-chrome plated with an M16x1.5 female thread, and the air port is 1/4" PT.
