About the Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP40X15B
A single acting pull cylinder with spring return, the ATP40X15B keeps the rod extended by spring and retracts it with compressed air. This 40 mm bore unit delivers a 500.3 N pull at 0.5 MPa (729 N at 0.7 MPa), both figures already net of the return spring, and needs only 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. Note that the ATP family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ATE40X15, which swaps the P for an E in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short ISO 21287 body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures and guarding. The rod end is male thread (the B code) on a 12 mm S45C hard-chrome rod, and the 1/8" port is fixed by the bore. In practice, plan on about 300 N of usable pull at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 25 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches.
