About the Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP80X15B
A single acting, spring-extend pull cylinder, the ATP80X15B uses an internal spring to hold the rod out and compressed air at 0.2 MPa or higher to retract it over a 15 mm stroke. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 2159.1 N of pull net of the spring, rising to 3101.6 N at 0.7 MPa, so it suits clamping or release jobs in the 2 kN class. The 80 mm bore takes a 20 mm rod with a male thread (the B code) and a 1/4" port.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters inside tight welding fixtures and press guards. Plan on roughly 1295 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rating), which is a vertical lift of about 66 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ATE80X15, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, and the optional -S magnet (not fitted on this code) is what enables CMSE / DMSE switches.
