This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is B06-SAU50X25S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the B06-SAU50X25S in place of this model. The SAU replacement uses the same profile body, bore, stroke, force and SC-series mounting. It moves to the current CMSG / DMSG / EMSG sensor switches (the SU used CS1-B / DS1-B) and adds the SAUF valve-integrated option.

About the Airtac B06-SU Battery Dedicated Standard Cylinder B06-SU50X25S

The AirTAC B06-SU50X25S is a discontinued double-acting profile cylinder. The B06- prefix marks it as a battery-manufacturing dedicated variant of the SU50X25S, mechanically identical to the standard line. As a compact extruded-aluminum profile body, it is shorter than an ISO 15552 cylinder of the same bore, delivering 982 N push at 0.5 MPa through a 1/4" port. AirTAC replaced this EOL unit with the SAU50X25S drop-in: same 50mm bore, 25mm stroke, force, port and SC-series mounting.

For sizing, a safe working load is roughly 589 N (60% of the 982 N push), yielding a 50 kg vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. The SAU upgrade introduces CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors to replace this model's legacy CS1-B/DS1-B switches, and adds the SAUF built-in 4M valve option the SU line lacked. Note that a plain cylinder drifts on air loss; use an external rod lock for held loads.

Replacing the Airtac B06-SU Battery Dedicated Standard Cylinder B06-SU50X25S with the B06-SAU50X25S

To replace this B06-SU50X25S, order the SAU50X25S. Confirm the 1/4" port, M16x1.5 rod thread, and PT/G/NPT thread choice. Because this SKU has the -S magnet, you must upgrade to CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensors (legacy CS1-B/DS1-B will not fit the SAU). Size both ways: a 40mm bore yields 628 N push at 0.5 MPa, while a 63mm bore yields 1559 N. The 25mm stroke is short, so side-load risk is minimal, but for battery-cell stacking requiring mid-stroke holding, add a pilot-operated check valve or external rod lock, as the 21mm cushions only decelerate at ends. The SAUF valve-integrated variant can simplify cycle logic if needed.

Airtac B06-SU Battery Dedicated Standard Cylinder B06-SU50X25S FAQ

Yes, the B06-SU50X25S (the battery-manufacturing dedicated variant of the SU50X25S) is discontinued. The exact drop-in replacement is the AirTAC SAU50X25S. It shares the identical 50mm bore, 25mm stroke, 982 N output force, 1/4" port, and SC-series mounting, so it fits the same battery line footprint without modifications.

At 0.5 MPa it provides 982 N push and 825 N pull, reaching 1374 N push at 0.7 MPa and a theoretical max of 200 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Because this model includes the -S magnet, it originally used CS1-B/DS1-B switches. When upgrading to the SAU50X25S, you must switch to the current CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensor family.
