About the Airtac MACJ Stainless Steel Mini Adjustable Cylinder MACJ16X125-40S
With a 40 mm adjustable window, the MACJ16X125-40S lets you shorten the extend stroke on site with a stop screw, so one cylinder can be dialled into several fixture positions. It is double-acting with a variable air cushion at both ends, running 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and 30-800 mm/s.
At 0.5 MPa the 16 mm bore pushes 100.5 N and pulls 86.4 N, so plan continuous work around 60 N. The stainless round barrel and hard-chrome plated rod shrug off washdown and damp air, a real edge over painted mini cylinders, and the riveted aluminium covers keep the rolled body sealed. A magnet is built in as standard, so CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches clip on without a special piston.

The 16 mm bore is the smallest in the MA series; if 100.5 N at 0.5 MPa falls short, step up to bore 20 (157 N) or bore 25 (245.3 N). The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke only - it will not hold a load if air is lost, so fit a valving solution for that job. Mount with an FA flange or LB foot, add I or Y rod knuckles where the load pivots, and keep side loads off the 6 mm rod across the 125 mm travel.
