About the Airtac MACJ Stainless Steel Mini Adjustable Cylinder MACJ32X180-50S
A 32 mm bore, 180 mm stroke mini cylinder with a 50 mm adjustable-stroke window: the extend stroke can be trimmed down on site with the external stop screw, while the variable air cushion at both ends soaks up end-of-stroke shock. Air works both ways (double-acting), and the stop is a mechanical end stop only - on air loss the rod still drifts, so do not count on it to park a load.
At 0.5 MPa the bore pushes 402 N and pulls 346 N; as a working figure, plan roughly 241 N of real pushing at 0.5 MPa instead of the full rating. The riveted stainless barrel and hard-chromed 12 mm rod shrug off washdown and damp plant air - a genuine edge over painted mini bodies - and the built-in magnet means CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches clip on straight from stock.

Size down to a MACJ25 (245 N push at 0.5 MPa) if the duty is light; step up to MACJ40 (628 N push) when the 32 mm bore feels tight. At 180 mm of stroke, keep side loads off the 12 mm rod - guide the load externally or fit an I or Y knuckle to take out misalignment.
