About the Airtac MACJ Stainless Steel Mini Adjustable Cylinder MACJ40X200-10S
A compact round-body mini cylinder with a tuning feature most small bores skip: the extend stroke can be shortened on site by up to 10 mm via the external stop screw. The MACJ40X200-10S is double-acting with a variable air cushion at each end, so 200 mm of travel can be dialled in during set-up and softened at touchdown. At 0.5 MPa it pushes with 628.3 N - real muscle for clamping, ejecting or lifting mid-weight parts from a stainless barrel only 40 mm across.
Around that barrel sits a hard-chrome plated carbon-steel rod (20 um) with riveted aluminium covers, a combination that keeps sealing and sliding surfaces smooth through humid shifts and light washdown where painted minis start to flake. If 628.3 N at 0.5 MPa overshoots the job, drop to bore 32 (402.2 N); if the load fights back, bore 50 gives 981.3 N. The 16 mm rod carries an M12x1.25 male thread for attachment, and you can mount via FA flange or LB foot, with I or Y rod knuckles for pivoting links. Note the -10 stop only sets the extend end position: it is not a clamp that holds the rod when air is lost, so a drifting load still needs a blocking valve or external lock. At 200 mm of travel, keep side loads off the rod or carry them on external guides.
